A Low Budget Firm

An interior design for a hypothetical design firm with a constraint of coming up with a very low budget design but also an aesthetically pleasing one as well. The challenge basically involved looking at the practical side of looking at a design and working around the constraints of cost and maintainance of the project. The design was bulit around the the assumption of the work space which included leisure.Life is a game was chosen as the broad concept with Chess as the main theme and feel given to the whole space
Perspective view of the space
The Entrance makes the space more interseting with two Queens and pawns welcoming us to experience the new space
The outside wall is covered with boxes of sizes 2' x 2' and 1' x 1 which are made of MDF(Medium Density Fibres) and are actually fixed on to the walls basically for showcasing the works and models made by the people who work in the studio
As you enter into the studio the first thing you experience is the WALL OF ART which basically an inspirational wall where the people working in the studio can basically look and get inspired with the quotations of life and other things.People working in the studio can come up with every differnt meaningful quotations daily which inspire them thus just to increase faith in themselves
Towards the Right is basically the "RESOURCE CENTRE" which is very basic for any design studio as any project deals with a heavy intensive research thus giving it more importance there is projection screen installed on the opposite wall for online research and presentations to the clients along with the curved Rack for storage of books and round table for common discussions
Every Design Firm is full of pressure and tensions all around thus a Leisure space is designed for relaxation with a mattress acting as the bed along with the fridge, plasma and a slab acting as the surface to keep plates and food and use of curtains to give privacy and for better utilisation the outside extension is converted into a balcony with a rocking chair and a coffee table to enjoy better sunrises and sunsets for beautiful moments. The balcony also has a matt cover base so that there is less maintainance involved
Moving towards the Working Space which is divided into small cubicles formed as a personal space for every individual to work. The cubicles generally consisting of softboards and tables for putting up the process work and cubicles are designed in such a manner that there is a balcony attached to every cubicle acting as a refreshment from the everyday work
The view from the outside so as to show balcony which one can use as the refreshment area for relaxation with a velvet matt covering in the balcony
